Late in the afternoon, and at summer dawns, old fishers go for the squid.

It is a cephalopod sensitive to light; fishers use jigging equipment, an artisan fishing rig that simulates a fish covered with vertical fish hooks. Bait is not used, and with a light to-and-fro movement the fisher makes a visual delusion that brings about the squid attack.

As the fisherman feels a soft movement in the palm of his hand, he quickly pulls the fishing line and the squid comes out of the water still alive.
